Gift Annuity Disclosure Statement

The Media Research Center (MRC) charitable gift annuity contracts are general obligations of the MRC and are guaranteed by all of the organization’s assets. As of December 31, 2006, MRC’s total invested annuity reserve funds exceeded $400,000. These funds are invested in segregated gift annuity reserve accounts through the Merrill Lynch Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management in a balanced portfolio - 65% in equities, 30% in fixed income investments and 5% in cash instruments. In the equity funds, the investments generally consist of a blend of core, value and growth equities with an emphasis on the core and value investments. The fixed income component consists primarily of bond holdings. The MRC and its auditors regularly monitor the liability for these annuity obligations, taking into consideration the life expectancies of annuitants and the amount of each individual annuity payment. To comply with various state reporting requirements, the gift annuity reserve fund is also certified by a licensed actuary each year.

The MRC is contractually obligated to make annuity payments to its gift annuitants regardless of the organization’s investment performance or current market conditions. MRC’s Audited Financial Report, dated December 31, 2006, listed total assets at $11,280,233 with liability obligations of $1,335,498 and net assets of $9,944,735. Additionally, the MRC does not charge management, custodial or investment transaction fees to its gift annuitants. A copy of MRC’s Audited Financial Statement is available upon request.

The MRC gift annuity program is administered and managed by the Merrill Lynch Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management, a recognized leader in the area of fiduciary, administrative, and investment management services.

Common investment funds managed by the MRC are exempt from registration requirements of the federal securities laws, pursuant to the exemption for collective investment funds and similar funds maintained by charitable organizations under the Philanthropy Protection Act of 1995 (P.L. 104-62). Information in this statement is provided in accordance with the requirements of this Act.

The Media Research Center is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization established in 1987. Responsibility for governing the organization is vested in a six member Board of Directors comprised of persons who are recommended and elected by other board members.
